KONE and ARAB INTERNATIONAL OPTRONICS (AIO) have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to collaborate on the development of sustainable urban infrastructure in Egypt, marking a significant step toward advancing future-ready mobility solutions in the country.
The agreement brings together KONE's global expertise in people flow and vertical mobility with AIO's industrial and technological capabilities to support the development of innovative, reliable and sustainable infrastructure across Egypt. The collaboration is aligned with Egypt's Vision 2030 initiative, which focuses on sustainable economic growth, industrial development and smart infrastructure.
The LOI signing was attended by Egypt's Minister of Industry, Khaled Hashem, and Finland's Ambassador to Egypt, Riikka Eela, highlighting the strategic importance of the partnership for both countries.
Commenting on the collaboration Ahmed Fathi El-Shater, Managing Director of KONE Egypt, said the agreement strengthens cooperation between global expertise and Egyptian industrial capabilities while reinforcing KONE's commitment to staying close to customer needs and supporting the delivery of future-focused mobility solutions.
