I have a theory: if you put a swing outside an office, I'll eventually end up on it. 😊
This one was waiting outside our Madrid office after a day packed with meetings, conversations, and new faces.
The smile probably says it all. While spending a full day meeting new people can be exhausting, I've always been one of those who gets energy from being together with colleagues in person. And over the past couple of weeks, I've had plenty of opportunities to do just that.
As I prepare to take on some additional responsibilities alongside my current role for the next few months, I've enjoyed spending time with colleagues across our Europe business, getting closer to our Talent Acquisition teams and the many stakeholders they work with every day.
The insightful conversations have given me an even greater appreciation for the important role these teams play. They are often the first KONE colleagues our candidates meet, helping shape the first impression of who we are as a company. It is a significant responsibility, and I have been impressed by the professionalism, care, and expertise with which our teams approach it.
I also had the privilege of spending two days with an inspiring group of female leaders from across Europe. We shared leadership lessons, career journeys, successes, setbacks, and perspectives on how we can best lead the execution of our Rise strategy. Hearing Philippe Delorme and Karla Lindahl speak openly about their own leadership journeys, and learnings along the way, made those conversations even more meaningful.
What I am taking away from these past weeks is simple: there is tremendous value in getting closer to people, listening to different perspectives, and understanding the realities of our business through the eyes of those who make it happen every day.
And perhaps that's why the swing felt like such a fitting ending to the day. Stay curious. Stay connected. And when you come across a swing, allow yourself to be a bit playful and don't always rush past it.
