A historic landmark with a new purpose.
The Begijnhof in Hasselt has been transformed from a closed historic site into a vibrant and accessible campus for the Faculty of Architecture at Hasselt University. By bringing together heritage, education and public space, this remarkable redevelopment gives new life to one of the city's most unique locations.
We are proud to have contributed to this transformation alongside Renotec by installing three H300 lifts. Two lifts provide access between two levels, while a custom 5-stop solution connects multiple split-level floors, ensuring accessibility throughout the historic buildings while making the most of the limited space available.
Projects like this demonstrate that accessibility and heritage preservation can go hand in hand, helping historic buildings remain relevant, usable, and welcoming for future generations.
A big thank you to Renotec for the excellent collaboration throughout this project.
