TK Elevator to Supply Around 60 VT Units for Barcelona’s New Pavilion Zero
TK Elevator (TKE) is set to provide roughly 60 vertical-transportation units for Fira Barcelona’s new Pavilion Zero in Barcelona, Spain.
Developed by Fira 2000 S.A., the project will add 60,000 m² to the Grand Via venue, taking its total exhibition space to 300,000 m² and enhancing its capacity to host major international events.
The VT package includes 26 velino escalators with 1,000-mm-wide steps and a 30° incline, designed to navigate height differences of 4 to 10 metres. The project will also feature 20 AI-ready, natively digital EOX elevators, combining energy efficiency with digital capabilities.
The elevator package includes high-capacity units capable of carrying up to 1,600 kg or 21 passengers, travelling at speeds of up to 3 m/s and serving heights of up to 74 metres. The installation will also include 1,000-kg elevators for 13 passengers, including a panoramic elevator.
Supporting the venue’s complex logistics will be heavy-duty equipment comprising 9,000-kg freight elevators, 10,000-kg platform lifts and 6,500-kg electric freight elevators.
Much of the equipment will be manufactured at TK Elevator’s plants in Spain and Germany, highlighting the scale and technical requirements of one of Barcelona’s major upcoming exhibition infrastructure projects.
