Sometimes, the best way to add value is to subtract.
In our personal lives, we often focus on what we should add:
A new skill.
A new habit.
A new goal.
But sometimes, real growth starts with removing something:
A bad habit.
Fear.
Ego.
Procrastination.
Something that no longer serves us.
The same principle applies to business and leadership.
A great employee may not fit the team.
A profitable customer may consume too many resources.
A talented player may disrupt the balance of the whole team.
Letting go may look like a loss.
But sometimes:
− (One thing)
= + (More focus, balance, performance, and growth)
Leadership is not always about adding more.
Sometimes, it is about having the courage to ask:
“What should I remove to make room for what really matters?”
Sometimes, subtraction is the highest form of addition.
