Making cities more accessible often starts with solving challenges in places that were not originally designed for accessibility.
During my visit to China, I learned more about an important project delivered by our team for Beijing Metro Line 4.
As part of the line’s modernization, our Supra inclined platform lifts improve accessibility for passengers with reduced mobility. Integrating these solutions into a busy, existing metro environment is complex. Space is limited, passenger flows must continue, and every installation must meet high standards for safety, quality and reliability.
This is where inclined platform lifts make a real difference. They help passengers overcome stairs in locations where major structural changes are difficult to realize, enabling them to navigate the station more independently.
The project also reflects the trust our team has built through proven performance, technical reliability and dedicated service. Meeting the colleagues behind it made me proud of the expertise and commitment that turned a complex accessibility challenge into a practical solution with a meaningful impact.
My time in China also included valuable conversations about the future of our wider business. Together with Clare Brophy, I met with our Home Elevator distribution partners to discuss a market with strong potential and the opportunities for further growth.
I also visited our R&D and Manufacturing teams. Seeing their expertise firsthand and hearing about the new products and innovations taking shape made me even more excited about what lies ahead.
