Transaction value in the first six months was up 59% year-over-year, though almost all of that growth sits in a handful of mega-deals, per PitchBook.
TK Elevator is the clearest example of that dynamic. Advent and Cinven sold one of the world's largest elevator manufacturers to a Finnish competitor KONE for $34.4 billion — after growing profits and finding the one buyer able to capture the synergies. “They followed the private equity playbook to the letter,” wrote the Financial Times.
