As a "mature" sales executive in the elevator industry, I can say that the changes in technology, specifically AI, are amazing. I will admit it takes me a little time to adjust to and understand, and I will probably always be a struggling luddite when it comes to using this AI technology and truly understanding how it works. But I can say this. It's amazing technology and the applications in the vertical transportation industry are endless. And to think, we are in the pure infancy stage.

AI will never sweep a pit, or paint a machine room floor, but real 24/7 connectivity is what customers are asking for. If you are a customer looking for a new install, modernization, or service program, you should be aware of, and always be asking for, these capabilities from your suppliers. Ask for the useable features now, and for the seamless expandability in the future as technology evolves. It's here to stay, and the industry is evolving fast to meet this demand. Don't invest incorrectly in a modernization and or new install, and immediately be left behind.

Technology changes. I just donated over a hundred DVD to Goodwill. Why? technology changed and nobody uses DVD's and CD's anymore. Elevator and escalator controls are built now with 24/7 connectivity now, and for a good reason. Old control system, old technology, and old approaches to maintenance, are going the way of the DVD. Embrace modern technology and methods.
