Fall Protection
These Velino escalators in Norway are equipped with an additional raised balustrades, a fall protection.
This safety guard shall prevent that a passenger falls over the normal balustrade with the moving handrail. Or that someone jumps intentionally over it.
Such fall protection is mandatory in Norway for decades. And in a not too distant future, all new escalators in Europe will be delivered with this additional safety feature.
