Proper Use of Wire Rope Clips - Infographics
Wire rope clips must be installed correctly to maintain the strength and safety of the connection.
* Maintain proper spacing between clips—at least six times the wire-rope diameter.
* Tighten the nuts before loading and recheck them after loading.
* Use a wire rope course/bight whenever possible.
* Position the clip body on the loaded side of the rope—the correct “right” arrangement.
* Place a marking on the rope to detect slipping or movement during operation.
* Regularly check the clamping torque and condition of the clips.
Incorrectly installed wire rope clips can reduce holding capacity and may lead to rope slippage or failure.
