I leave Singapore with love and gratitude for all the experiences it has given me, and with love and appreciation for all only present in Europe, such as my family.
One of my favourite external networking meetings in Singapore was catching up with Divya Khurana (ex-KPMG, London) and Etti Seppä, Head of Innovation, Asia Pacific, at the European elevator and escalator giant KONE. Even though our conversations were different, there was a common thread that stayed with me. Both these ladies are incredibly powerful in their ambition and in their ability to embrace life, be bold, and make the most of the opportunities they are given. While lifting other women / people with them. I, for one, would not be where I am today without the support and guidance of leaders I met along the way, who took the time to support and guide me in reaching my dreams.
In true IMD fashion, this Asia trip has helped me discover a different level of depth to a side of myself I was not quite aware of. Having good self-awareness is one of the greatest qualities of a leader. So is taking others with you along the way.
It takes courage and strength to rise by lifting others. May this post be the nudge you need to intentionally do that this week.
