Last week in Paris, we had the chance to share progress on KONE Occupancy Insights, a solution we’ve been developing to turn KONE data into a clear understanding of real building usage and user trends.
One of the most interesting use cases, especially relevant during heat waves, is HVAC optimization.
By understanding when people are actually inside a building, we can proactively support smarter decisions around heating, cooling, and ventilation. In some cases, this can help reduce electricity costs by up to 36%, without installing external sensors, because the elevators are already doing their thing.
It’s great to see design, data, and business come together around a real customer and environmental need. Still more to build, test, and learn, but the progress is becoming more tangible and we can already ship pretty much all around the globe.
