Got to walk through two very different setups back to back:
🔧 Original Fujitec equipment in the machine room — always cool to see legacy gear still doing its job. 🤟🏻
🔧 Otis equipment machine room right after — nice side-by-side comparison of how different manufacturers approach vertical transportation. We also maintain this equipment! 💪🏻
Also, exhibit A: my standard rooftop selfie. One eye squinted shut, head cocked to the side, looking like I just got asked to do long division without a calculator. In my defense, the sun was directly in my face as always and I was a few machine rooms deep into the day. Where’s my shades at Costa Sunglasses?! 😎
But the real showstopper was riding the cabs themselves. Cab 1 — warm wood paneling, dark marble flooring, polished stainless doors, just a genuinely elegant ride. 😍
Cabs 2-The detail that really got me: the COP buttons for each floor use their own unique pattern — chevrons, zebra print, swirls, dots — and those patterns actually carry through to the decor on that specific floor. Step off at the zebra-print button and you’re greeted by an actual zebra-print wall. That kind of wayfinding is such a smart, memorable touch. Really stands out! 🦓
Always a good day when the tech is solid AND the design is this thoughtful (unlike my selfie game).
