I was honored to represent KONE Thailand at The NOVA Expo 2026 and participate in the panel discussion:
“Re:Moving Forward: Transforming Vertical Transportation to Strengthen Existing Buildings Towards a Sustainable Net-Zero Future.”
One of the key takeaways from the discussion was the shared perspective among building owners, property management leaders, and technology experts that many existing buildings are facing the challenge of improving operational efficiency, reducing energy consumption, enhancing user experience, and staying competitive in an increasingly sustainability-driven world.
A critical system that is often overlooked in this transformation is vertical transportation.
For high-rise buildings, elevators are far more than a convenience—they are essential infrastructure that directly impacts safety, accessibility, operational performance, user satisfaction, and sustainability.
Modernizing elevators and escalators is therefore not simply about replacing aging equipment. It is a strategic investment that helps building owners improve building performance, support smart building technologies, extend asset life cycles, reduce energy consumption, and advance long-term Net-Zero goals.
