Yesterday our team reached a major milestone for the modernisation project at Majestic Centre, Wellington, handing over the first modernised lift with the second scheduled for next week. Over the next year, we will continue to modernise the remaining 10 lifts and 4 escalators for the tallest building in Wellington.
As part of the modernisation, lifts are equipped with our building transit management system, Schindler PORT. Schindler PORT optimises the way we move people throughout buildings by allowing users to select the floor they wish to travel to at a terminal, rather than pressing a button inside the lift. Passengers are then directed to the lift that will take them to their desired floor, improving transport capacity and minimising wait times.
