Schindler Group has been awarded a contract to modernize 31 elevators at the 50-story General Motors Building at 767 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. The project will include new controllers, electronic infrastructure and upgrades to the original machines and core mechanical systems, along with Schindler’s PORT destination-dispatch technology to improve traffic flow and security.
The modernization aims to enhance the building’s performance while preserving its status as a landmark commercial property.
