The best part of New York City isn’t the skyline, it’s the people who obsess over their craft.
Some days I’m behind a screen. Other days I’m walking job sites around the Lower East Side and and visiting an architect on Bleecker Street talking elevators, construction, and design coordination. Yesterday, that led me to one of the best pizza spots in the city.
My good friend Giulio Mancuso recently opened Aria Nova, just off the corner Bleecker Street and Mcdougal. I gave him a call:
“You at Aria Nova or Markos?”“Aria Nova. Come by. You’ve gotta try the new crust.”
He wasn’t kidding. Perfectly fermented dough, fresh mozzarella made by hand every morning, incredible sauce, and top shelf ingredients. The same attention to detail and pride in execution that separates average from exceptional in any industry.
If you’re looking for a $1 slice, this isn’t your place. But if you appreciate real craftsmanship, this spot is absolutely worth checking out.
Small shop. Big flavor. Real craftsmanship.
