Yesterday, FBN Switzerland members had the privilege of visiting Schindler Group in Ebikon — a Swiss family business with over 150 years of entrepreneurial history.
We heard directly from Mr. Tobias Staehelin, representing the owner family, in a candid presentation and Q&A on how the company balances continuity with reinvention.
From there, we explored The Schindler City and the PORT Innovation Lab — a first-hand look at how technology, architecture and digital innovation are shaping the City of Tomorrow.
Marion Bonnard, member of the board of Schindler Group AG and representative of the family Bonnard and our president of the board of FBN Switzerland Frutiger Thomas, FRICS closed the visit with reflections that tied it all together.
What struck us most wasn't forcely the technology. It was the mindset: enduring family businesses aren't built only on what's passed down — they're built on each generation's willingness to question, adapt, and create something new.
