We recently did an upgrade a lift for Laurel Bank, a purpose-built care home situated in Bradford. Laurel Bank provides a high standard of living to its residents. Laurel Bank is part of We Care Group & Summit Care Group, a care home group with many care homes in the UK. They are a customer we work alongside regularly and we look after many of their lifts. For example, we recently did a lift upgrade for one of We Care’s care homes, Woolton Grange.
Laurel bank had an old lift, and experienced issues commonly seen with old lifts, such as breakdowns and inefficient use. LEIA (The Lift and Escalator Association) recommends a lift modernisation after 15 years, their lift was older than the recommended time. Luckily, the client was willing to invest before the lift parts became obsolete, which would have caused more headache.
🔶 What We Did On Site 🔶
𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱
The control panel was problematic, so for this reason we replaced it with a DMG control system. This control system is reliable and fit for purpose, making it perfect for the lift upgrade at laurel bank. Our old school engineers have decades of experience, especially in DMG control systems and their installation.
𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗨𝗽𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗱
During the project, we upgraded the whole hydraulic system to ensure maximum safety and efficiency. The objective was to make the ride as smooth as possible. For this reason, we used Biofial Hydraulics as it was perfect for this project. The Biofial Hydraulics is known for reliability and its safe and smooth ride quality.
𝗗𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
On site, we upgraded the lift door operator to an L&L system. This system is specially designed for the sites lift doors. As well as this, the door safety edges, car lighting, shaft lighting, car top controls, auto-dialler with alarm, GSM and sim.
