This building holds a special place in my heart. Back in the late 1980s and early 1990s, while serving in the Republic of Singapore Navy, this was where I embarked and disembarked the ferry to the naval base on Pulau Brani.
Our paths crossed again some 20 years later when I joined Otis in 2004. Since 1978, Otis has been moving the occupants and visitors of this iconic building.
I am happy to learn that it will be redeveloped into an impressive 33-storey mixed-use development as part of the Southern Waterfront masterplan. As this building embarks on a new chapter, I hope our paths will cross once again—for the third time.
